If you are looking for culture you make the right choice visiting one of the hundreds great museums in the city. If you want night-life: you are probably right in one of the famous clubs and discotheques of the city. Or if you just want relaxing holidays you better go to one of the famous parks N.Y. has to offer I would recommend you to see Brooklyn Bridge if you are interessetad in great engeneering work. The Brooklyn Bridge is located across from City Hall Park. It is one of the great engineering milestones of the 19th century. Overlooking the East River, this historic crossing divides Manhattan and Brooklyn. Visitors are able to walk across the bridge for an excellent view of lower Manhattan, and there is a path for pedestrians and bicyclists that allows a contrasting view of the two boroughs. When the Brooklyn Bridge opened in 1883 after 16 years of construction, it linked the two independent cities of New York City to Brooklyn. The explosion of the bomb scared the world of the consequences of the bomb, no one not even the pilot of the plane carrying the bomb had any idea what would happen once he drops the bomb. He later wrote a book about the time during WWII, when the bombs exploded and he regretted the fact that he carried out the operation. The Nuclear deterrence theory is when a country which possesses a nuclear arsenal threatens its enemy nation (also a nuclear armed country) that it will retaliate if attacked. This theory is a strategy which is used to avoid armed conflicts between the countries. This theory encourages proliferation since once a country possesses a nuclear weapon, they will always try and improve their weapons(in order to feel safe) and make duplicates, examples of this is both Pakistan and India who have conducted multiple tests of their missiles trying to improve their current models. Also countries like the US and Russia build missiles that could counter nuclear attacks. I fear for the future of the world today, the 6 billion people living on this earth today, if countries shed their nuclear weapons then the world will be a safe place again. I fear that this is not going to happen I fear that if a third world war breaks out, it will lead to the destruction of our planet resulting in over a billion deaths and the future generations of those affected to be deformed due to the radiation( all it needs is a spark that can be caused by an accidental activation of the nuclear weapon by a particular country and the country affected would retaliate leading to a nuclear war or if the leader of a nation possessing the weapon makes an irrational move by attacking its enemy would also lead to a nuclear war ). It could take us back to the Stone Age and destroy our civilization the reason being, over a thousand nuclear missiles would be detonated all around the world leading to destruction of land, loss of human life. Also the long term effects could also be deadly resulting in a change of the climate because of hyper global warming, food shortage due to destruction to agricultural land causing it to be infertile in fact poisonous. Therefore what needs to be done is that all the nuclear armed countries should decide before it is too late and regret like Albert Einstein ( who encouraged the then American President Roosevelt to develop the atomic bomb before Germany succeeds in creating the atomic bomb) the consequences of the nuclear bomb, therefore all the countries should take this problem seriously and should avoid ignoring it by eliminating and dismantling all their nuclear weapons and make the world a nuclear free , a safe world once again!

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud – An Analysis I chose the poem "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" by William Wordsworth because I like the imagery in it of dancing daffodils. Upon closer examination, I realized that most of this imagery is created by the many metaphors and similes Wordsworth uses. In the first line, Wordsworth says "I wandered lonely as a cloud." This is a simile comparing the wondering of a man to a cloud drifting through the sky. I suppose the wandering cloud is lonely because there is nothing up there that high in the sky besides it. It can pass by unnoticed, touching nothing. Also, the image of a cloud brings to mind a light, carefree sort of wandering. The cloud is not bound by any obstacle, but can go wherever the whim of the wind takes it. The next line of poem says "I saw a crowd, a host, of golden daffodils." Here Wordsworth is using a metaphor to compare the daffodils to a crowd of people and a host of angels. The word crowd brings to mind an image of the daffodils chattering amongst one another, leaning t heir heads near each other in the wind. The word host makes them seem like their golden petals are shimmering like golden halos on angels. It is interesting to note that daffodils do have a circular rim of petals in the middle that could look like a halo. Later in the poem Wordsworth uses another simile, saying the dancing of daffodils in the wind is "continuous as the stars that shine and twinkle on the milky way." This line creates the image of the wind blowing the tops of random daffodils up and down in a haphazard matter, so they appear to glint momentarily as their faces catch the sun. This goes along with the next metaphor of the daffodils "tossing their heads in sprightly dance." Comparing their movement to a dance also makes me think of swirling, swishing yellow skirts moving in harmony. It is also interesting how the first image of the wandering cloud contrasts sharply with the second image of the dancing daffodils.

Iago the Master of Manipulation Throughout the play Othello by William Shakespeare, Iago the antagonist develops a scheme to ruin Othello’s life, just because he didn’t get the position of lieutenant and uses people from Roderigo to Cassio to unfold his plans. Now, how can this villainous man manipulate people around him so well? Iago effectively manipulates Roderigo, Cassio and Othello by using Roderigo’s love for Desdemona, by implying to Cassio that he’s helping him for his interests when it’s actually the opposite, and by acting as an â€Å"honest† person in front of Othello to hide his true foul personality. Here Iago reacts to Roderigo wanting to commit suicide by telling him to take care of himself, and instead to try to win Desdemona with his money; but actually uses his money for his own plans and makes fun of him for being so naive. Thus do I make my fool my purse. † (I. iii. 315) and all this time poor Roderigo has been tricked by Iago from the beginning of the play to the end because Roderigo wanted Desdemona to such an extent. Iago tricked Cassio into thinking he was helping him for his benefit when all along it was only a part of Iago’s plan to ruin the bond between Othello and Desdemona. Iago himself caused trouble for Cassio and that leads to Cassio’s lieutenant position revoked, only to tell him to get help from Desdemona. Iago has many Asideâ⠂¬â„¢s in the play telling the audience of his plans. By making Cassio talk with Desdemona Iago plants suspicion into Othello to ruin his peace of mind. â€Å"Yet that I put the Moor at least into a jealousy so strong that judgement cannot cure/I’ll have our Micheal Cassio on the hip, abuse him to the Moor in the rank garb. † As Iago does this in several ccasions it’s all for his own benefit, â€Å"Make the Moor thank me, love me, and reward me for making him egregiously an ass and practising upon his peace and quiet even to madness. †(II. i. 294-305). Iago successfully ends a part of his plan by killing two birds with one stone, Roderigo and Cassio. â€Å"Now whether he kill Cassio, or Cassio him, or each do kill the other, every way makes my game. † (V. i. 12-14). Hence, Iago manipulates Cassio by implying he is helping him when it’s the opposite. To manipulate Othello, Iago acts as an honest and good person in front of Othello to hide his foul personality.Throughout the play, you hear Iago saying, â€Å"I hate the Moor† (I. iii. 361). He even tells Roderigo all his schemes. But recently credit card fraud has been on the increase as criminals are cloning stealing the cards and learning to forge the signature that appears on the card. This is happening more than ever before. Goods can be purchased with the swipe of a card, and a signature on a piece of paper, the cashier has the difficult task to determine whether the signature has been forged or not. This is quite a difficult task because it can be very hard to tell. Card issuers being more aware of this, have launched cards with a 3 digit security code, which is totally unique to the card, and is located on the back of the card (see fig 1.0), which is needed when using the card on-line, this has h elped towards cloning the cards, but if the criminal has stolen the card, this is useless. Now with the introduction of the new Chip cards, customers verify payment by typing in a 4 digit PIN code into a small keypad (see fig 2.0) much like you do at a cash-machine. The cashier verifies the owner of the card by the entry of a correct PIN. So if the card has been stolen, it is near impossible for the criminal to use the card, because they cannot forge the PIN, if a PIN is entered wrong 3 times the card is locked for use and the bank must be contacted. For me, the life-changing event happened when I enrolled in college a few years ago. Since that occurred, January has always been a special month for me because this is the month that makes me remember the event and remember how this event totally changed my life and made me look at my life from a totally different perspective. As I was joining my freshman year, I naturally took note of the new-found freedom.
